Television: Mona Elswah speaks to Al Hurra and BBC about information warfare in the Arab world

Mona Elswah appeared on Al Hurra to discuss her research on Iranian computational propaganda campaigns:

“In a few minutes, you can create fake grassroots support for a government or for an idea to influence the public opinion… We found that the most-used Arabic hashtags in tweets originating from Iran targeted Saudi Arabia. The Arabic tweets aimed to represent Saudi Arabia negatively.  This is part of the long-term cold war between Saudi Arabia and Iran.”
