Rutendo Chabikwa

Rutendo Chabikwa is a DPhil student at the Oxford Internet Institute and a research assistant with the Computational Propaganda Project. Her research focuses on how citizen-state relations in African postcolonial contexts play out on social digital media. She uses gender as an analytic concept to question and uncover the inherent inequalities and power structures in digital communications. Other research interests include the spread of misinformation online and gender data justice in Africa. She holds a B.A in International Economics, French and Global Studies from St. Lawrence University and an MSc in Women, Peace and Security from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
