Press: Alexandra Pavliuc’s article in The Conversation ‘Kamala Harris abuse campaign shows how trolls evade social media moderation’

Alexandra is a DPhil student in Social Data Science at the Oxford Internet Institute. Alexandra’s research explores network visualization techniques that can highlight structures and strategies of computational propaganda across social media platforms. Her research in this field has been published by the NATO Defence Strategic Communications Journal, presented as a poster at Eurovis 2020, and has been funded by the Mozilla Foundation and Institut Montaigne, a French think tank. Prior to joining the OII in 2020, Alexandra completed her MSc in Data Science at City, University of London, where she received a distinction for her dissertation titled “Evaluating Temporal Network Visualisation Representations of Information Operations”. She also holds a BA in Professional Communication with a Minor in Physics from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, where she was a researcher and project manager in human-robot interaction and audience studies.
